Traditionally jobs created in an authority’s Housing system needed to go through the labour intensive and time consuming process of being manually allocated to the most appropriate field repairs personnel. What is more, the service suffered further inefficiency by requiring the repairs officers to travel to-and-fro between the office and sites in order to pick up jobs and return the completed forms.

OPTI-TIME actively allocates tasks created in an authority's back office housing system to the most appropriate personnel. Kirona have also mobilised this system to enable the field based workers to request and view their allocated tasks in real-time through the use of a mobile device (PDA, Tablet PC etc) from any location. What is more, upon viewing the works order, they can then carry out the task using their mobile device and submit it directly to the back office.
