Intelligent Mobile benefits
Improves the efficiency and effectiveness of the visits that local authorities must make to validate claims. It allows the inspector to view and create information directly from/into the back office benefits database, whilst in the home of the claimant or anywhere else away from the office.
The traditional paper based visiting schedule can be very time consuming for the local authority. Through increased efficiency using Intelligent Mobile benefits authorities are much better equipped to meet their Intervention, Change of Circumstances and BVPI new claims targets.
During our solutions design workshops we tailor the solution for each process (new claims, change of circs or interventions) to the specific requirements of the customer. The solution includes the following components which when brought together make a huge impact on the way the service is delivered.

Intelligent e-script question based interface guides experienced (expert mode) and in-experienced staff (novice mode) through the process of capturing the information for any of the key processes

Pre-populated electronic documents are generated for intervention statements, new claim forms etc with all the data from the back office database dropped into the right parts of the form

Electronic signature capture

Evidence capture and upload (hand scanner or camera)

Two way real time EDM integration (upload and browse/download) for all major systems including Comino, Anite, Hummingbird
The system has proven itself to be very flexible with 50+ Revenues & Benefits departments all implementing their own tailored solution. The range of uses of the system can be broadly summarised as follows:
- Electronic Document note taking: Enables visiting staff to download electronic document (typically interventions e-doc) containing up to date information of claim/claimant and gather up dates by annotating on to the e-document prior to capturing signature. The e-document is then submitted back to the office to allow an assessor to update the back office system and input amendments. The document can be submitted direct to all major EDM systems. This approach is also used as an off-line backup for staff using the following methods
- Real Time Data Gathering: Enables visiting staff to view and update information in Real Time for any claim with the added safety net that the case will be pended until such time as an Assessor is able to review in the office and then make the calculation. The claimant's signature is captured on to the fully updated e-document prior to being submitted back to the office for review by the assessor. The e-document can be submitted direct to all major EDM systems.
- Real Time Assessment: Enables visiting staff to view and update information in Real Time for any claim and once satisfied with the information they can then choose to make a manual calculation and inform the claimant whilst still in their home or allow the overnight mass calc to pick this up for them. The claimants signature is captured on to the fully updated e-doc (new claim, intervention, change of circs) prior to being submitted back to the office for retention and storage purposes. The e-document can be submitted direct to all major EDM systems.
During the Solutions Design workshop we discuss and agree the best approach for a particular customer to start with. In most cases a roadmap is agreed where quick wins for visit performance can be achieved, with a view to altering the way the service works for greater long term efficiency savings and service delivery.
Intelligent Mobile Revenues
The Intelligent mobile revenues application has been re-designed specifically for optimal use on a mobile device. This allows users using any device, anywhere real-time access to the council tax (CTAX) and non domestic rates (NNDR) database. For example this could be for an inspector on a handheld device at the customer’s home recording inspection results or a recovery officer at court creating payment arrangements and viewing up to date council tax benefit information.
Recently a significant number of enhancements and new functionality has been requested by our customers and this has largely been delivered, with some more scheduled soon.
