Motile GPS/GIS
Kirona uses GPS (Global Positioning System) technology in order to allow mobile users to view maps. This technology is then combined with GIS (Geographic Information System) which enables data to be overlayed onto the GPS map. The result gives mobile staff the ability to find locations, navigate and track work related jobs and information.

Mobile applications, by their very nature, intrinsically require the use of GPS and spatial data. Whilst the Kirona platform has long been able to capture and store GPS information, these features have been recently extended by incorporating Google Maps and Streetmap.co.uk graphical mapping facilities into the product family.The Google Maps integration enables the following features:

Note that at this time, due to restrictions with the Google Maps API, this feature is only available on Windows or Linux based Tablet PC’s and Laptops.
