Motile Worker Safety

The safety of staff can be a concern to organisations. In order to address this, Kirona give staff the capability to protect themselves with Safeguard timers (set alarms in the back office system) and Panic Buttons.

Timers allow workers to specify a time period and make some notes associated with an alarm. Should they fail to deactivate the alarm within the specified time period then the back office system will automatically notify via email and SMS appropriate colleagues for assistance. Once an alarm has been set, the expiry and pro-active notification of colleagues is completely controlled by the back office system and does not require any interaction with the officers mobile device. In this way the Wireless Safeguard system is able to alert colleagues even if the device has been removed or lost by the officer.

In addition to the expiry of alarms, a panic button feature in the application is also provided. Depending on how the system administrators choose to set up the system, clicking the panic button will either send SMS or emails or both to a user defined list of colleagues. The messages for both timers and panic buttons include GPS satellite integration for automatic recording of exact position via satellite good to 10 metres accuracy.
