Kirona is helping Regulatory & Environmental Service departments across the UK to increase the number of inspections and visits they can carry out each day with their existing workforce, and reduce the “turn-around time” for individual inspections, visits and cases.
We do this by leveraging our Mobile Workforce Scheduler Software for Environmental Services, including DRS Scheduler, to ensure that daily visit schedules and appointments are optimised to reduce unnecessary travel. We also streamline processes through the use of Job Manager mobile working to deliver essential information directly to the mobile device of the field-based inspector.
Rolling out egg inspections for DEFRA
The Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) is one of Defra’s delivery bodies. It is responsible for safeguarding animal and plant health for the benefit of people, the environment and the economy.
For over a year, Defra has been running the Field Activity Programme. Its aims are to save money, reduce the number of visits by Defra staff to farmers, deliver a better service for customers, and cut down on red tape.
As part of that work, they have been rolling out Kirona’s Field Service Management solution, starting with the egg marketing inspectors in APHA. Ultimately, it might be possible to roll the same technology out more widely to other inspectors in other Defra delivery bodies.
